I was grade 11 when I was clearly saw the the beauty of Escalante City because we lived in a small barangay that is far from the City .Im with my friends during that time and I don’t have any ideas about the place.
The only thing that I know before I discovered the whole place is there well known Manlambus Festival-based on the keyword “lambus”meaning to bat something .There was a story tale that my father told me .He said that Manlambus was so rich in marine life .A simple bashing of the seawater that can result to the catching of fishes which made most people ,fisheries is there livelihood.
In my first day of tour ,Im with my friends .We went first to the Escalante public plaza.One thing that catch my attention is there three-Fist monument .This is not only the first time that I saw the monument because when I travelled went to Cebu we passed by the monument and it made me curious about it .My friend Shirlene shared the story behind the monument .The monument was namely called “Escalante massacre monument”where more than 20 civilians were killed during the massacre on September 20,1985.While we enjoyed the view,we went to the Ukay-Ukay store (that is-hand me down clothes which ,if one is lucky,could be signature brands).I bought 2 dresses and 1 pair of shoes in a priced more that 350 pesos all.There is so much thing you could buy in Ukay-Ukay .You must be patient in choosing the best suits for you .Not just in affordable price but also in good quality.
In the second day we went to the public market and bought our favorite siomai .We ordered 40 pesos each of us and partner it with Coke.We stayed at the food court area almost 2 hours because of their piso wifi connection .And it is the reason why the people stayed there in an hours.I saw couples and lovers that were sweet to each other.And also families that enjoyed eating their snacks.
In the third day we went to the Mang tinapay Bakeshop to had some snacks .We bought bulalo for just 35 pesos per bowl.We ordered 5 bowls on it with 1 packed of slice bread.It was rainy during that time and the hot bulalo really brought us into good good feels.While we ate,there was 3 homeless kids went to us .Asking for some food to eat We gave each of them 10 pesos and gave our remaining bulalo that we didn’t finished.Were so happy during that time because the best feeling was we shared our blessings and made those kids smile.After the snacks we went to the Jing Rose computer shop and met the brother of my friend moonyen .Her brother was handsome with the very cute eyes and I feel the infatuation to her brother during that time .I can’t really explained my feelings unto him.After that he said that he gonna go because he had something to do so.
In the fourth day I asked nanay Minda the owner of my boarding house to slept over with my friends and she agreed.We wake up late in the morning at 8:30 am.It was Christmas vacation and we have no class so that our tour are continued .We went to the public market in the food court area to ate breakfast .We ordered 2 cups of rice each and chicken adobo with our favorite hot beef soup.I really enjoyed spending my time with my friends .Eventhough were just a new friends but I felt comfortable and more fun with them.They treated me as their close friend and I felt special during that time.We went to the small store and bought our personal needs.
In night time we went to the Escante old poblacion public plaza and ate dinner we bought pork inasal and rice.After that were not contented to all of it .We also bought our favorite “balut “I bought to pieces of it .I love the spicy vinegar which made me sweat a lot .It was so fun and memorable experienced.Being with my new friends brings me to a peaceful mind.And my journey with them brings me so much fun.
During my tour Im sorrounded by awesome people;I called them friends.I much more me when Im with them.The memories the we built in the City of Escalante are worth to remember.There is so much fun to travel with friends and the day I spent with them is my favorite day.Every travel experienced with friends wherever the place it is ,to me,is always unique and memorable .
